OSCAR Safeguarding-and-Child-Protection - Hamilton

Venue: Pukete Neighbourhood House, 43 Church Road, Pukete, Hamilton.

This workshop will enable OSCAR staff to develop the safeguarding and child protection knowledge and skills needed to identify and respond to child well-being and safety concerns, including allegations against staff.

OSCN has partnered with Holistic Safeguarding to develop this course specifically for the OSCAR sector. It is facilitated by trainers who all have roles in OSCAR service provision. Well-informed and based in best practice - this is accessible and practical training presented by OSCAR people for OSCAR people.   

A substantial resource book for each participant is included in the course fee.

- Recognising vulnerable children
- Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and impacts on development, health, and well-being
- Different types of harm, categories and possible indicators of abuse
- Disclosures and how to respond safely
- Reporting, referring and recording concerns
- Allegations against staff
- Safe practices when working with children
- Promoting a safeguarding culture in your programme and organisation

Cost: OSCN members: $65-00 per person, ($60-00 per person if more than 3 people attending.); Non-members: $85-00 per person
